Music giant, T-Series, has bagged the 14th Lions Gold Awards 2007 as ‘India’s Best Music Company Award’ this year.
Held at Vile Parle, Mumbai, Lions of SOL Mumbai felicitated T-series at a function last night in an entertaining evening celebrating the achievers in various categories in entertainment. T-Series won the Award for Lion’s Favourite India’s Best Music Company and Divya Khosla Kumar accepted the magnificent award on behalf of T-Series. T-Series has produced music albums of many hit films this year such as Om Shanti Om, Bhool Bhulaiyaa etc and have produced the album for Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par as well.

Games that Katrina’s playing

Katrina Kaif gave tough time to her male co-stars over the chessboard on the sets of Race.
Here is an example of beauty with brains. Katrina Kaif, the pretty damsel with a killer smile, often locked her brains with co-star Akshaye Khanna over the game of chess while shooting for the Abbas-Mastan thriller.
According to reports, since the breaks in between the shots were long, it was Akshaye who took the initiative and invited co-stars for games of chess. Katrina Kaif, needless to say, was all game for it.
Though she knew a few of the moves, she reportedly learnt the game in detail from Akshaye.
And within days, she acquired a good command over chess. She would even dare to play the gambit or camouflage her attack while playing with Akshaye, who in turn was pretty impressed by Katrina’s grasp over chess.
In fact, she almost ended up beating Akshaye in a game.
Even Saif Ali Khan could not resist the temptation and would often join in.
‘Race’ is a thriller starring a host of actors. Apart from Akshaye, Katrina and Saif, the film stars Bipasha Basu, Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy.

No one is using Esha properly

The ethereal Hema Malini is getting worried about her daughter.
“No one is able to use Esha properly. I want to produce a film where Esha will play the lead and Ahana will get into production. It’s time Ahana got a chance to prove herself behind the camera.
I must start a production house right now and get both our daughters involved. Even Dharamji feels it’s important for me to give them that home start.”
Talk of Dharamji lights up Hema. “Do you know he shares a terrific rapport with Ahana? He’s very worried about what she’ll finally do. And he loves Esha so much.
For the first time he typed out an SMS to send to Esha in South Africa when he couldn’t get through on the phone. I checked with Esha to make sure she got it. It was a very precious moment for us.”
Talk veers to Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay. “Dharamji told Ramu that if his The hunt is already on for a good script-writer who can develop an idea that Hema has for a film featuring her and Esha. “That’s my top priority now.”

Deepika now Saif’s eyecandy

Now it’s Saif’s turn to become become a producer and like his good friend SRK, chhote nawab is also looking forward to cast Deepika ‘Shanti’ Padukone in a lead role opposite him.
The actor has already finalized a project titled ‘Agent Vinod’, to be directed by Sriram Raghavan next year. In all likelihood, the film will star Saif’s latest flame Kareena Kapoor.
But now, rumours have it that Saif is eager to start another film before ‘Agent Vinod’. The actor has reportedly been impressed by director Imtiaz Ali ’s work in Jab We Met and has been discussing several scripts with him.
And Deepika Padukone, who made her dream debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, is under consideration for the lead role in the film.
Saif says the cast of the film will be announced once the script is ready.
On a different film, Deepika is all set to do a film with Akshay Kumar. The flick will be directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Rohan Sippy.

It is my last comdey: Akshay

Having gone through a super successful year with three top-ranking comedies, Namastey London, Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Welcome, his next big laugh-out-loud comedy, releasing on December 20 worldwide.
Welcome, being touted as the biggest release of Eid and Christmas, marks the return of the Akshay-Katrina pairing for a third time, besides assembling the biggest ensemble cast comprising Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Feroz Khan, Nana Patekar & Mallika Sherawat under one roof.
Akshay, shooting for Singh Is King in Australia at present, laughs, “Earlier, everyone said I was synonymous with action. I bagged the khiladi tag. Now with my last few films being successful comedies, I’ve become synonymous with comedy!”
Ask him about his hit run at the box-office this year, he smiles, “I’m happy that the three comedies I did this year had the box-office laughing. Welcome is the king of them all! It’s a laugh-riot from the word go and I hope everyone enjoys it during the festive season as it is my last major comedy of 2007!”
So is Akshay bidding adieu to comedy? “Not at all! Comedy comes as naturally to me as action! Next year I have a variety of films on the anvil.
I am getting back to action with Chandni Chowk To China and Tashan. But for my now I want everyone to concentrate on Welcome and welcome the new year with a bang!” he signs off.

Aamir-Amitabh: War of words

Big B Aamir Khan war of words is heating up everyday. Aamir in a recent media interview panned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his handling of the film Black terming it ‘insensitive and manipulative.’ He also termed the performances of the actors ‘over the top’.
The criticism did not go down well with Amitabh Bachchan. In an interview with a tabloid he was asked what he thought about Aamir’s ‘over the top’ remark.
“I cannot comment whether my performance was towering or not, but Aamir may be right on the other maybe the performances did go ‘over the top’ of his head!” Amitabh responded.
In his response to Bachchan’s outburst, Aamir Khan posted a blog entry that was calm and matter of fact.
“I have the highest regard for Mr Bachchan and I am very big fan of his work. Probably one of the biggest. I believe that he along with Mr Dilip Kumar are among my two favourite actors of Indian Cimema.
I have no hesitation in saying that I don”t even feature on the same platform as an actor. He is also in my opinion THE biggest star that Indian Cinema has ever seen.”
Putting his comments on Black in perspective Aamir continues,
“My big exception towards Black is the fact that a child with severe difficulties is shown being ill treated instead of being treated with love, care and understanding. I simply cannot come to terms with that no matter what the writer and director say in defence.”

Mallika rubs Katrina wrong way

Mallika Sherawat films may not be making any dent at box office but the motor mouth actress is quite an item at the sets these days.
In her Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam Tanaaz Lal plays a simple, non-glamourous Haryanawi girl. But it is one thing to dress like a Haryanawi gal and another to talk like one. Tanaaz encountered more than minor hurdles while getting her Haryanawi lingo right.
That is where Mallika came in.
After observing that Tanaaz was not able to get the vernacular right, Mallika volunteered to gave her a crash course in Haryanawi. Mallika taught Tanaaz the pronunciation and phonetic intonations of the language. She also taught her new words, some of them dirty ones, to broaden Tanaaz’s vocabulary.
Every day Mallika would check on Tanaaz’s diction and give her inputs to improve the same.
Says Tanaaz, “Mallika helped me with intonation, and then she taught me which words or letters to stress on. Haryanvi is very different from the Hindi that we speak. We bonded very well over this. I am a fast learner, too, and I am glad that she was impressed with me, finally. She was of great help, for sure.”
But poor Katrina Kaif, Mallika’s Welcome co-star, didn’t get to see jat girl’s kind avatar. It was like cold war going on between the hotties.
The insiders reveal that Mallika tried to copy Katrina costumes and hairstyles which made Kat quite angry. But obviously Sherawat kept finding new ways to rub Katrina up the wrong way. She has also been imitating Katrina’s British accent on and off the sets.
Apart from the two women, ‘Welcome’ boasts of a big star cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Feroze Khan and Nana Patekar.

Kareena features in a music video

After the success of Jab We Met Kareena Kapoor has become hot property in the film industry. Though Kareena was last seen in an item song ‘Its Rocking’ for the film Kya Love Story Hai she now features in a private music video for the first time. The video is directed by Sangeeth Sivan and is produced by Saregama India Ltd.
The song ‘Bedhadak Bade Nazdikiyan’ showcases Kareena getting up close and intimate with special close-ups of the hair as its clearly even promoting Head & Shoulders. The entire shoot is done with a combination of white and black in mind. Kareena looks cool in the video with an international model look maintained in the video. The song is rather buoyant and will catch on soon. The logo of Head & Shoulders is displayed in the video at regular intervals. It is an interesting way to advertise and run a product campaign. Singer Suzanne has sung the track, which was composed by Pritam who incidentally had even composed the songs of Jab We Met.
The album, also titled ‘Bedhadak Bade Nazdikiyan’, is a compilation of the title track and other hits from the Saregama library.

I can’t kiss on screen:Madhuri

Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit, who scorched celluloid with her sheer elegance and histrionics till her marriage to an Indian doctor in the US five years ago, is on a comebak trail, ready to sizzle the screen once again.
”I never thought that marriage ends anyone’s career. I got married, I never thought I was going to leave films or I am going to give up anything. I got married and had kids and so I had to take that break.
”And when I found a good script and the time to do it, then I said yes, went ahead and I did it. But I don’t think marriage should end anybody’s career,” she told NDTV in an interview.
The 42-year-old actress is to renew her liaison with Bollywood by starring in ‘Aa Ja Nach Le’, featuring Kunal Kapoor in the lead.
During the interview, given to Mr Pranab Roy, a glowing Madhuri Dixit speaks about her life in America, her kids, her take on Bollywood and her favourite actors.
The interview is to be telecast tomorrow at 2200 hrs and repeat telecast on December 2 at 1000 hrs.
Looking fit, young and vibrant, Madhuri said she was all praise for the Khan trio — Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman — the reigning superstars, with whom she paired while she was the indubitable empress of Bollywood.
”Shah Rukh Khan is full of energy and he is someone you can talk to on any topic in the world as he has a lot to say and he knows about a lot of stuff. He is not just a one-sided kind of personality, he is very rounded. He knows about everything; from computers to anything you have.
He is very intelligent and has a lot of ideas, and I like the way he comes up with all these ideas and that he is never sitting still.” About Aamir Khan, she said she had done just two films with him and enjoyed working with the actor.
”He is a very good actor and is always energetic. Aamir is slightly different from others; he takes his time and wants to make everything sure. He is very methodic and likes to do things in his own way. So that makes him very different.” She was also full of praises for Salman Khan.
”I have worked with Salman and he is also a good actor. You never know with him, when he is on the sets, whether he is paying attention to what you are doing, but he just carries the roles so well. When it comes to the work, he knows what he is doing.”
Asked whether she wanted to act in Hollywood, she said: ”Not really, not yet. Though, I was asked for a few projects. There was a serial called ‘West Wing’ and they had something in there. But I could not do it, because I was pregnant with my second son at that time and so I said, sorry.”
Dixit has made a much-awaited comeback to Bollywood after a five year hiatus.
Asked about kissing on screen, she quipped: ”No, No, No. And that’s a personal choice. I don’t know, if it’s an Indian thing or not. I won’t be comfortable you know. No, I don’t have anything against it. It’s ok, you know. But not now…no.”
About her family and life in America, the actress said it was just wonderful. ”Everybody has dreams about what they are going to do and their ambitions and so on. For me, because we come from a big family, where we are four siblings and grew up together, family has been very important to me.
Family was a big part of my dream that I dreamt for myself. Having my own family, having kids, and stuff like that.” She said she was living in a place where the mountains were just 90 minutes away.
”We go to the mountains and get my son to ski. My husband skies very well. So, this winter, I am thinking that I am going to learn skiing.” To a query whether she would allow her sons to become actors, she said she would not mind.
”I wouldn’t mind if my kids want to be actors, they can be actors; if they want to be doctors, they can be doctors and even if they want to do a 9 to 5 job and say I am happy doing this.” She said her husband is ”very relaxed and very chilled out”.
”He loves sport and the outdoors and there is lot of mountain biking that we do together and we go snorkeling and we do all that kind of stuff. We don’t get to party a lot because he is on call every other day, but we still have fun with our kids when we go out.”

Koena to Bloom with Orlando!

Koena Mitra is all set to share screen space with British actor Orlando Bloom in English film ‘Karna’, which will be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications.
The film that is scheduled for release next year and is peppered with a lot of fight sequences will portray the athletic actress as a superwoman. “I have been to Beijing and Hong Kong for the special training”, says Koena without revealing much details about the new venture.
Meanwhile, at the home front, Koena is playing a ‘meaty’ role in an Anant Mahadevan directed thriller ‘Anamika,’ based on the novel ‘Rebecca.’
“I am also working with two new directors and the films are in a nascent stage right now,” says the ‘Khullam Khulla’ girl, the song from the film ‘Road’ which shot her into glamourdom.
In the five years since she came under public spotlight, she has tried her hand at acting, modelling, stage shows and public appearances.
Looking back at her momentous years in the glamour industry, Koena believes that she has meticulously waited and worked to get big banner films.
“I think big banner names have an added advantage of getting a good response from the audience but one has to work hard also because even such films can fall flat. I have rejected a lot of films and item songs and I think that has been a wise decision,” Koena says

Ash & Deepika form K brigade

Once can be termed a fluke. The second makes a point and the third time its validation. Aishwarya Rai, then Shilpa Shetty and now Deepika Padukone, the three damsels from Karnataka have captured the imagination of the Bombay film industry.
Their dancing skills, chiseled bodies, large limpid eyes, perfect diction and dialogue delivery, dignified demeanor has the industry and viewers accepting the fact that Kannadigas have more to offer than Deve Gowda and rava dosai.
There is yet another K factor. If you combine a KK (Karnataka Kudi) with another K (khan) well you get sparkles. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam had the KK plus K combine of Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan and that raked in huge moolah and Om Shanti Om has the KK plus K of Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan, and what a blockbuster that one is.
That brings us to the other Karnataka Kudi, Shilpa Shetty. She has managed to melt the icy Brit hearts. So far, the Brits thought that only Udupi cuisine is what came out of Mangalore, that coastal city (mind it, its not a town) in Karnataka. Not so. This hot Kannadiga lady has shown that Mangalore has ice (Aishwarya) and fire (Shilpa). Now beat that.
But why call them ‘kudis’ which is the Punjabi word for ‘lass’ you might ask…because they can do the Punjabi thumak better than the Punjabi leading ladies of today.
Watch Shilpa Shetty gyrating in OSO and see the Punjabi kudi Karishma Kapoor shaking her head and bobbing her knee….what was Farah Khan thinking? See Aishawarya doing the gidda in Bride and Prejudice and look at the dancing of Priyanka Chopra or Lara Datta.
There is grace and vigor in Aishwarya, but in Priyanka and Lara’s style its in your face heaving and jumping and lip biting. And what about the new K entrant Deepika Padukone who is disarmingly charming as ‘dreamy girl’. Her poise and innocent looks are signs that she is “lambi race ka ghoda (ghodi?)”.
So, whereas there will always be room for Kareenas and Poojas of the film industry, the reigning queen will always be from the Deccan, whether it is Vijayanti Mala Bali, Hema Malini, Rekha or Vidya Balan.
Maybe, it can be loaned for a while to bong bombshells like Rakhee, Sharmila Tagore, Kajol or Rani.

Sush found me very seductive

Most young actors her age seem far more sure of what they want. Amrita seems to be unsure about where to go after her initial success in Ishq Vishq and Main Hoon Na. After going ‘grung’-ho in Main Hoon Na she played a simple girl-next-door opposite her Ishq Vishq hero Shahid Kapoor in Shikhar.
Big mistake. And now as though to rectify the white fright she plays a blushing bride-to-be to Shahid in Sooraj-ji’s Vivah.
Sooraj, desperate for a comeback vehicle after the botched Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon was sold on Amrita from the start when he saw her in Raj Santoshi’s The Legend Of Bhagat Singh. For the hero’s role Rajshri protégé Sammir Dattani was a prime contender.
Amrita is flattered. “The way Rajshris present their heroines is very very complimentary. Vivah is the best thing that could’ve happened to my career. It’s a big opportunity for all involved with the film.
My fingers are crossed. Vivah is unlike any of Sooraj-ji’s films. Very unlike Hum Aapke Hain Kaun or Maine Pyar Kiyai. It’s an entirely new situation. We had so much fun working with Sooraj-ji.”
Post-Vivah Amrita has E Niwas’ My Name Is Anthony Gonsalvez where she has newcomer Nikhil Diwedi opposite her.
“I’m fortunate to have worked with a lot of very good directors. Every actor wants her director to be completely sure of what he wants. E Niwas is like that. Everything is planned. It’s a pleasure working with him.
I’ve been going slow and steady with the projects. There’s no tearing hurry to get anywhere. I’d rather do quality work.”
Amrita defends her inhibited old-world image. “But how I dress and behave depends completely on the role, situation and director. Even in Vivah I had a completely Indian look.
So far I wasn’t required to be presented in any other way except what I’m most comfortable with. I guess I’m very fortunate. What if those kinds of roles weren’t offered to me? God has been kind.
However there’re no hard and fast dos and don’ts in this industry. I didn’t sit and plan my moves from Ishq Vishq to Vivah. I’m just flowing along. “
What about the ultra-seductive number with Akshaye Khanna in Milan Luthria’s Deewaar?
Amrita gets convenient amnesia about the erotic number. “You’ll be surprised how many people found me good. Even Sushmita Sen said I had done it so beautifully. I’ve been fortunate to have Saroj Khan-ji as my choreographer right from my first film.”
Why so little output? “Whatever my heart says I’ve done. Even Indra Kumar’s Pyare Mohan…Hit or flop isn’t in anybody’s hand. I enjoyed myself thoroughly doing Pyare Mohan. I got to work with Induji and Viveik again after Mast.”
So far Amrita loves the film industry. “I’ve only worked with people who are nice. I’ve worked with big stars like Ajay Devgan in Bhagat Singh, and they’ve all been wonderful. I never expected to work in Ajay again in Masti and Shikhar. Actors like him make us youngsters feel welcome.”

Of course I am in Love: Preity Zinta

Look at it this way. Preity Zinta must be the only female actor in the world who has played the unwed mother twice, once at the beginning of her career in Kya Kehna and then again in the middle of her career.
….Presuming Salaam Namaste and Jhoom Barabaar Jhoom are the midriff of her body of work. Preity has always made it clear she would never stay on after marriage. “Once I’ll be out, I’ll be out,” she has told me a number of times.
That’s one thing about Preity Zinta. She has remained consistent in her beliefs, thoroughly unconfused about what she wants from life. Like all Aquarians Preity is a very gregarious soul.
Like Abhishek she chatters like no Chatter-ji except perhaps Moushumi. But like Abhishek, Preity pulls down a don’t-mess-with-me warning-sign the minute anyone tries to act over-familiar with her.
Having known both for some years I can tell you one thing. Neither Abhishek nor Preity will tell you anything that they don’t want to. So do NOT try to cross their lakshman-rekhas.
Is Preity seeing Ness Wadia? Of course she is! And she’s certainly not hiding her love under coy pretences (being coy is just not Preity’s scene). She loves to be in love. And she doesn’t need to hide it. But there’s just that little bit of reserve and restraint about her private life.
“It isn’t right for me to let the world know what I’m doing every minute of the day. Every human-being is entitled to a space where no one comes between me and myself, not even a spouse,” says Preity.
A private person, yet so exuberant and boisterous… Preity is almost like a twin-sister to fellow-Aquarian Urmila Matondkar. They’re strikingly alike in their reserved gregariousness.
When I first got to know Preity she was seeing model Marc Robinson. Before she could ‘graduate’ into being Mrs Robinson Preity had moved on in life, had acquired a new poise and a new set of friends.
Preity instinctively makes all the right choices in life without compromising with her principles.
For five years after Mani Rathnam’s Dil Se (where she unabashedly asked Shah Rukh if he was a virgin) Preity and Shah Rukh didn’t co-star because of a difference of opinion.
“My first release Dil Se was with him. We didn’t work together thereafter. There was a bit of a misunderstanding. We weren’t fighting or anything. We both stood our ground. I think we just let each other be,” Preity told me after she signed Kal Ho Na Ho with Shah Rukh.
This lady likes to stand her ground. She did so when she was supposed to testify against underworld threat in Bollywood. Almost every witness in the extortion cases against the underworld turned hostile. Not Preity. At the risk of being caused immense bodily harm she did the right thing in the court.
Doing the right thing is imperative to Preity’s existence as a humanbeing and a professional. “No compromises on principles and on quality of the work,” has always been her motto.
“There have been times when I’ve had to tell the director, ‘Sorry, Sir. But the same emotion can be done differently. Why do we have to be so tacky?’ But such problems hardly prop up. When they do, my directors have invariably sambhaloed my character.
For me as an actor, it’s very important to have the complete script with me before I agree to do a film. Most of the time I do get my way. And I’m thankful to God for that. There have been lots of times when I’ve said no to seemingly lucrative offers. I’ve been told what a fool I am.
But I’d rather go by my convictions. This is me, and I’ve to be true to myself. I’ve to comfortable with what I do. When I become old I want my children and grandchildren to look proudly at my body of work. Imagine my kids turning to me and saying, ‘Oh God! Why did you do that?’
Question her about her indomitable stance against the underworld, and she shrugs off the role of a crusader. ” There’re times when you’ve to do things not to prove anything to others, but to yourself.
This was one of those times. I didn’t do it it to feel brave. But because I thought it was about time someone stood up to speak against what’s bothering all of us in the film industry.”
Actor, crusader, columnist (she was writing a column on the film industry for BBC.com) Preity waltzes through all her roles in life spontaneously. Whether playing the martyr in The Hero or the vamp in Armaan, she seems to enjoy every minute of her character’s existence.
Repressed (Kal Ho Na Ho) or boisterous (Salaam Namaste ) here’s an actress who knows her mind and exercizes it to constantly improve herself.
“I love to live for the moment. But I don’t let the moment take over my life. I love a clean city, home and heart….not necessarily in that order,” she giggles pleasurably.

‘It is OK to be killed by Big B’

Veejay for six years, Gaurav Kapoor, with no connections whatsoever to the film industry, has decided to take a serious shot at film acting.
“Six years is a long time on television. I can’t say I’m bored with veejaying. But I need to move on. I’d love to change lanes. Ramu’s cinema seemed to be my best bet. And what better opportunity than to be in the greatest story ever told…re-told?”
Gaurav recalls his excitement when Ramu summoned him to play Ahmed, A.K.Hangal’s young Muslim son played by Sachin in the original Sholay..
“I wondered why Shreyas Talpade had turned it down! I told Ramuji I’d play Basanti’s horse Dhanno if he asked me to. I mean, this is Sholay, man!
I’m the only one of the cast who wasn’t born when it was released. Over the years Sholay has become a cult film. People don’t watch the film. They watch their favourite scenes over and over.”
Gaurav was selected because Ramu wanted someone who was innocent-looking yet mischievous. He points out a very interesting coincidence about his abbreviated career as a film actor.
“I died in my first two films Darna Manaa Hai and Shhhhh. In fact I nearly died in real life during Shhhhh when the car carrying me, Dino Morea and Tanisha crashed. And I died in Sholay.
When I told my mother this—you know how mothers are—she said, ‘Don’t die in this one, Beta’ But when I told her whose hands (Amitabh Bachchan) I died she said it was okay.”
“But jokes apart, I need to work on my body to be more celluloid-worthy.”
In the new version of Sholay, Gaurav actually had a full-blown confrontation scene with the Big B. “There was no confrontation between Gabbar Singh and Ahmed in Ramesh Sippy’s film. That should give you an indication on where Ramu is heading.
I shot with THE Amitabh Bachchan and he was so gracious. I’ve earlier interviewed him for his films on television. But this was different. I was nervous as hell. After our scenes he was kind enough to tell me I did fine.
Actually I can’t figure out why Shreyas Talpade decided not to do Ahmed’s role. I guess people have their own reason for doing what they do. Shreyas’ loss is my gain. Ramu and I go back to Darna Manaa Hai where I played one of the narrators.
That’s the kind of cinema I’d like to be associated with …maybe films with an ensemble cast where I get to do well- etched roles.”

What awaits Sanju at home…

Priya Dutt, the Congress MP and sister of film actor Sanjay Dutt, today said that no special preparations are being made for her brother’s return from Pune’s Yerwada jail after he was granted bail by the Supreme Court.
Commenting minutes after Sanjay got bail in a case connected with the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Priya said, “A good homemade food and a good bed for him (Sanjay) to sleep are all he would be provided with, when he returns home.”
She said that her family’s struggle would continue as Dutts have already filed a case in the Supreme Court challenging the special TADA court’s verdict that convicted Sanjay for illegally possessing weapons and awarded him six years of Rigorous Imprisonment under Arms Act.
Thanking God, people of the country and media for being supportive to them, Priya said that it would take three or more days for the legal formalities to complete before Sanjay is released from Pune’s Yerwada jail on bail.
Regarding her brother, who has been in the Pune jail since October 22 when he surrendered to the court after his interim bail came to an end, Priya said that Sanjay has been very brave and every family member gave each other strength and courage.
She refused to say anything about the actor’s future film assignment, saying that she is not involved with his professional commitments.
Sanjay’s colleagues and few of his friends are expected to receive him at the Yerwada jail when he would be released.
He had spent 22 days at the same jail in August, before he received the interim bail by the Supreme Court on August 20.
Meanwhile, yesteryears’ noted actress Saira Banu said that she had no words to express her happiness about hearing Sanjay’s bail, and said that hopefully he would be able to celebrate New Year with his family members and friends since he failed to get the bail before Diwali.

Akki’s new look angers Sikhs!

Akshay Kumar is in trouble for his Sikh look in Vipul Shah’s film Singh Is King.
From the time the first promotional still of the film was released, there have been voices of dissent over Akshay’s look in the film. The clean-shaven face under a trendy turban did not really make Akshay look like a true Singh.
And now, another photograph of Akshay from the film’s sets in Australia has met with objections. The image was reportedly taken by the paparazzi and posted on the Internet.
Locals from Punjabi community in Australia have particularly expressed their displeasure over the way Akshay is wearing a turban in the photo.
However, director Vipul Shah insists that the photo does not depict Akki’s real look in the film. It was taken without permission.
Shah says Akshay is himself a Punjabi and is working in close coordination with stylist Shabina Khan for his look in the film. Apart from this, a local Sikh is always on the sets to guide Akshay about how to wear a turban.
Vipul also makes it clear that his film does not ridicule any community. Rather, it shows Sikhs as the brave and courageous people.

2008: Year of Ash Bachchan

Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj is to be released in April 2008.
Reveals a source close to Varma (the director is completely off press after, in his own words, being burnt by Aag). “The film was never to be pitched against Jodha-Akbar.
We had zeroed- in on April because that’s how long the post-production would take. Clashing with another Aishwarya Rai film was never a problem.
In Jodha-Akbar Aishwarya plays a historical character. In Sarkar Raj she’s a contemporary woman.”
Mrs Rai-Bachchan is currently devoting all her time to home and ailing Daadi (Mrs Teji Bachchan) and perfecting every nuance in her two releases which in spite of stalwarts in the cast (including her formidable father- in-law in the Sarkar sequel) offers her author-backed roles.
According to insiders Sarkar Raj has shaped up into Ram Gopal Varma’s best work to date. And the Bachchans are extremely upbeat about it.
Sarkar Raj is also crucial for Abhishek, since it’s his next release. His last film was Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom, not counting the guest appearance in Laga Chunari Mein Daag. After Sarkar Raj it’s the f-x special Drona for Abhishek.
It looks like 2008 will be a bumper year for the Bachchans.

Bachchans one Amazing Night

At a time when star concerts are showing a steep decline, Bollywood’s most dynamic duo Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan along with Aishwarya Rai are all set to show the entertainment business how to make all the right moves on stage.
Entitled One Amazing Night the series of world concerts featuring the father and son Bachchan on stage is expected to storm show business.
Says the Big B, “Yes, we’re planning a series of world concerts. We’re looking at summer 2008. The shows, to be entitled One Amazing Night will have other leading entertainers from Hindi cinema besides the two of us.”
Says the Big B, “I’ve been doing world tours from long before they were fashionable in the mid-1970s when Jaya and I would be on stage along with (music composers) Kalyanji-Anandaji. Jaya and my enactment of the song Mere angnein mein always brought the house down.
A lot has changed since then. The concerts abroad have become far more slick and technically advanced.”
With both the Senior and Junior Bachchan being inundated in work, obviously the two-month concert needs meticulous planning.
“Yes, it requires very careful planning. Though I’ve been on stage a number of times, this is going to be Abhishek’s first world concert. The fact that our company AB Corp Ltd is involved does put an extra responsibility on us. Let’s see how it goes,” says AB.
When you once again question his energy level he quips, “If you continue wondering where my energy level comes from it may soon disappear

Salman-Katrina going to split?

After Shahid and Kareena another cute bollywood jodi is heading for a split. According to latest buzz things are not going well for Salman and Katrina and after almost two years of togetherness the duo has decided to call it quits.
The couple had been arguing and fighting a lot in recent times and it all started at Sallu’s birthday bash this January. He had pushed Katrina aside when she tried to stop him from drinking too much. Then, Salman’s excessively possessive behaviour just made things worse.
We hear that Salman hadserious reseravtions about Katrina’s hit jodi with Akshay Kumar and then he went furious when she signed Rajkumar Santoshi’s film with Shahid Kapoor too.
Katrina found herself in a very awkward situation, thanks to Sallu’s possessiveness. An insider claims, “After seeing the promos of Welcome, Sallu called up Nadiadwala and demanded that some changes be made.
He categorically told Feroze that he was unhappy that Katrina’s skirts were really short, and that he didn’t want him to publicise the film that way.”
Nadiadwala immediately called up Katrina to tell her about Salman’s phone call. Katrina told Nadiadwala that he need not make any changes as she was quite comfortable with whatever she had worn in his film.
The source also reveals that last week things worsened between the couple when Salman called Katrina up to question her about the films she’s been signing with stars he’s not comfortable with. This upset Katrina and she banged down the phone on him.
Salman was hurt by her behaviour and cancelled his shooting. After that, he tried calling her but she didn’t take his calls.
Both Salman and Katrina were unavailable for the comments.

I have not posed nude: Kangana

Kangana Ranaut suddenly caught a lot of attention when her picture appeared on the cover of a film magazine in a body suit with an equally shocking headline- ‘Naked Truth Exposed’. Though the image hasn’t kicked any controversy, it has certainly raised many eyebrows.
She simply doesn’t care about what people have to say about her picture.
“What’s the big deal about the picture? Are any of my vital organs seen? I haven’t posed nude at all. These days one doesn’t need to. Body suits are available readily in the market,” Kangana is quoted as saying.
She fails to understand why so many eyebrows are being raised.
“Why would I be upset,” she asks and adds, “It was for an annual issue and we just tried doing something different. In my profession, one has to do different kinds of photo shoots. I fail to understand why such a big deal is made about a normal picture.” On personal front, Kangana states she has very few friends in the industry and she prefers spending her time reading or doing meditation.
The twenty-year-old actress also says that she is single and ready to mingle.

Kareena to perform for Indian Cricket League

SRK did it with Chak De India; John followed that up with Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. And now it seems that Kareena is all set to follow suit by doing her bit for sports, the difference being that SRK and John have done it on reel life, while Kareena will do it in real life!
She is scheduled to perform for tracks like ‘It’s Rocking’ from Kya Love Story Hai and ‘Mauja Mauja’ from her hit film, Jab We Met, at the opening ceremony of Kapil Dev’s Indian Cricket League (ICL) in Chandigarh. The event is being coordinated by Bunty Walia’s GS Entertainment and Zee Sports. Kareena said that she is a cricket enthusiast and has watched a lot of Kapil Dev’s performances. Hence, being a part of the ceremony would indeed be an honor for her. She is also planning to meet up with Kapil Dev on November 30 before the event. The Australian cricketer Dean Jones and England’s Tony Greig would also be joining them.

London Mayor is Big B’s guest at Aladin sets

Sujoy Ghosh, producer and director of Aladin And The Mystery Of The Lamp, had a special guest last week during the film’s shoot. Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, was invited by Amitabh Bachchan on the sets after he expressed his desire of seeing a film’s shoot in India. Since the second schedule of the film is currently on at Film City, Big B, who plays ‘Genius - The Genie in the film’, gladly invited him over to the sets.
Informs Sujoy, “The Mayor not just visited the sets but also gave a clap for one of the shots. He is aware about the legend of Aladin and found it exciting to witness a film being made on such a grand scale in India.”
Talking about how the Mayor landed up on the sets, Sujoy says, “He came mainly as Mr. Bachchan’s guest. After witnessing the shoot, he expressed that it was a nice experience for him.”
There have been stupid news bytes floating around how Sri Lankan model Jacqueline Fernandez (call her Jackie, insists Sujoy!) has been paired opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the film. “Tell Riteish this; he would be very upset I am sure”, says Sujoy with a mischievous smile, “Jackie is the leading lady and she plays the role of Jasmine. But hello, she is opposite Riteish. Haven’t we all read ‘Alladin’?”
By the way how is the film shaping up? “We have wrapped up one mini schedule in Rajasthan. Ritiesh was there for an action sequence and I chose Rajasthan as the shooting location since there was this particular texture which was required for this sequence”, informs Sujoy.
“Now we are a part of this marathon schedule in good old Mumbai. Though it won’t be one start to finish schedule for Aladin…, the film’s shooting would practically go on till the month of May.

Who loves Bebo as item girl?

Kareena can’t stop gushing over her favourite actor. “Very frankly I did the Yeh mera dil song in Don because of Shah Rukh. My ultimate wish is to do a full-on love story with him.
But when Farhan Akhtar offered me the song I wondered if doing a guest appearance was right for me. But the temptation for doing a song with Shah Rukh got the better of me.”
And now Kareena is glad she did the song. “It’s got me tremendous notice. My niece Samaira has become my biggest fan. She dances to the song. And the minute she sees me she starts singing Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana.”
Though Kareena is listening to scripts everyday she has green-lighted only two new projects.
“I’ve decided I can’t do run of the mill films any more. I’ve done enough films without conviction. And it shows in my performances. Unlike my sister Karisma who could look convincing in any role I’ve to be convinced to look.
Talk of Omkara brightens Kareena. “It’s one film I’m truly proud of. I’m looking forward to working with Vishal Bhardawaj again. He’s one of those rare directors who knew how to tap into my potential.
I need directors like Vishal and Imtiaz Ali of Jab We Met to come forward and give me a chance. That’s why I’ve taken a long break to get my act together. I don’t want to look back on my career with any regrets.”

I like Salman very much:Big B

When his admirers in the Indian film industry refer to him as ‘God’, they would have never imagined he would one day actually star as God in a film.
But that’s exactly what the Big B plays in writer-turned-directpr Rumi Jaffrey’s God, Tussi Great Ho. Says a source, “Big B plays a spunky funny doughty and dude-like God, not your average God-in-costume but a very funky character, who has this on-going dialogue on life with Salman.
In fact all of Bachchan Saab’s scenes are with Salman, an actor he really enjoys working with after Baghban and Baabul. In both they shared screen space as father and son. In God… they’ve a far funnier and much more easy- going rapport.”
The Big B is expected to complete his God-ly role by the end of the year. Brushing off all illusions of grandeur the Big B says, “It’s just a role, albeit with a fantasy element that’s fun to do. And working with Salman is always enjoyable.”
Incidentally the Big B was expected to play Dashrath in Sanjay Khan’s large-screen interpretation of the Ramayan two years ago. He plays a ghost in Ravi Chopra’s new production Bhootnath. Other Actors Who Have Played God. Jeetendra & Jaya Prada Played Rama and Sita in Luv Kush Sanjay Dutt played Yamaraj in Life Ho To Aisi Ajay Devgan to play Rama & Sita in Raj Santoshi’s Ramayan.

‘Goal’ hailed for international integration

In recently held Dubai premier, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal didn’t enjoy a standing ovation. But instead of being disappointed, director Vivek Agnihotri is a happy man.
“That’s because the audience were left stationed on their seats even as end credits started rolling. There was a pin drop silence as the movie came to an end after the thrilling 20 minutes finale”, explains Vivek, “It was after around a minute that they started gathering themselves and congratulatory comments started flowing.”
“It will be pompous on my part to rave about the reactions people had there but one compliment which would remain closest to my heart forever is the one which came from a 80 year old Pakistani man”, says an emotional Vivek, “He said that the film had succeeded in achieving what politicians across borders haven’t been able to do when it comes to international integration.”
Those who have seen the film by now would know that while Arshad Warsi is shown as a man with Pakistani roots, John Abraham’s character is shown as an Indian by origin while there is a Bangladeshi migrant as well. All of these along with men from these three nationalities are shown to be a part of Southall United all-Asian football club.
“The way people from different nationalities come together and play for their honor has touched the chord. I am happy that the message of unity and integrity has gone across to the audience. A few critics may have missed the point but it is heartening to see that the paying public has hailed the effort”, continues Vivek.
The film has taken a good start all over. Did Vivek really anticipate this?
“I won’t bluff that we were presenting a blockbuster like Lagaan or an Om Shanti Om to the audience. Still the film has not just opened beyond our expectations but even carrying very good word of mouth. As I said earlier, we were underplaying the film and wanted audience to decide by themselves. The conviction shown by Ronnie (Screwala) and the entire team behind Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal has worked”, concludes Vivek.

Hrithik to debut with Penelope

Apna Bollywood is surely marching ahead for good times. According to the international box office, both OSO and Saawariya outscored the Robert Redford-Tom Cruise political thriller, Lions for Lambs, which released last week along with the two Bollywood biggies.
According to the international box office, OSO has garnered $18 million worldwide, while Saawariya and Lion for Lambs have made $13 million and $10 million respectively.
Not only that our Desi heros are all set to adorn the billboards with their Hollywood projects. The latest rumour says that Hrithik Roshan is making his Hollywood debut with none other than Penélope Cruz. The film will be extensively shot in Hollywood.
Penélope’s agent, who had asked for Hrithik’s profile, was bowled over by his international look and recommended him to the Spanish actress.
Our Bollywood hotties are not far behind either. After Ash, now Rani Mukherjee has been offered a role in Hollywood. But the queen bee is extremely tight-lipped about the whole issue. Rani says that she is not willing to go west just for the sake of acting in a Hollywood movie. She wants to do interesting roles and the country she works hardly matters.

Shah Rukh Khan is the sexiest Asian

Shah Rukh Khan is the hottest rather sexiest Asian man in the world according to the list published by a British weekly newspaper, ‘Eastern Eye’. Last year, Abhishek Bachchan had topped the list.
The poll was based on a public voting system where people decide as to who they think is the sexiest Asian Man from a list of 100 names published in the Eastern Eye newspaper and website.
Surely, SRK’s looks in OSO worked for him, adding to the popularity he already has. In the true sense, it is the way Shah Rukh carries himself that makes him sexy. In addition to that, he is a fantabulous actor, a good dancer, a great showman; now if all this does not make a person sexy then what would?
Among the list of sexy Asian men were the likes of Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Upen Patel, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ali Zafar, Jay Sean, and Saif Ali Khan. It has been three years since Easter Eye started this trend and the first-ever winner was John Abraham.

Bips herself designed her look in Goal

The Bong bombshell is at it again. She is all set to dazzle and bedazzle her fans this time with her cool and hot look in her latest release Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. It seems that when she first heard the script of Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal she wanted a new look in the film.
Speaking about her ‘looks’, Bipasha Basu said, “Well I play a physiotherapist and I can’t possibly be attending to boys injuries wearing a bikini. So I wanted a very realistic look. So, after a lot of discussion, we thought that while Romana (my character) is on fields as a physiotherapist, she would wear track pants and a T-Shirt, with glasses and tie her hair in a pony tail like a girl next door. And when she is not on field, then she is a typical Muslim girl from Southhall and will be wearing Pakistani salwar kameez.
Bips also added that she tries to look different in all her films. While the clothes are by Rocky S, she herself has designed the look in Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. And Vivek’s contribution was the glasses that she wears!

Rakhi Sawant says No to Marriage

This Diwali Rakhi Sawant was with her boyfriend Abhishek’s parents.
“They had come to visit. Yes, our parents do want us to get married. But we don’t want to marry yet. Right now we want to build our careers. Shaadi kar ke kya kar lenge? Everyone gets married. Big deal!
And after marriage, love tends to die, specially in showbiz. With both of us working there’s a danger that both me and Abhi will get less work after marriage.
We don’t have the good fortune of Ajay Devgan and Kajol or Shah Rukh and Gauri. Let us both make something out of our lives. Then we’ll shout out our marriage plans from rooftops. Abhi to main khadi bhi nahin hui hoon theek se.”
This Diwali Rakhi had Shah Rukh for company. “I was busy whooping it up with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Nach Naliye. I was too ill that day to even get up from bed. But the minute Shah Rukh walked in I was up on my feet. This was my most memorable Diwali.”
She seems to have forgiven her detractors on Nach Baliye. “Shall I tell you the truth? Now I don’t care whether Abhishek and I win or lose. We got a platform and we got our fame.
Recently we met Hemaji and she said she watches us on Nach Baliye. She wanted to know if I was a trained dancer. There’s a fire within me to dance. I don’t have a godfather.
Nach Baliye gave me an opportunity to be noticed. People wait for my performances. Abhishek and I work really hard on every performance.”
Rakhi has put all her other activities on the back-burner. “At the moment we don’t have time to do anything except Nach Baliye. I did do an item song in Rakesh Roshan’s Krazzy 4. But I won’t lie to you. I’m not flooded with offers.”
She says she’s no longer bothered with the backbiting on Nach Baliye. “May God keep everyone happy with their behaviour. I’ve stopped paying attention to them.
I don’t want my mood to be spoilt before every performance. Now I just focus on my performance. God is on my side. But I don’t want to pressurize God for anything. He has already given me everything.”
At the Saawariya premiere Rakhi met the mighty Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu. “He said to me, ‘Bahut ladti ho teevee pe. Kyun itna ladti ho?’ Abhishek and I touched his feet.
Our life was made. I also met Boney Kapoor and Sridevi. I nearly fainted when she congratulated me. Her daughters love me. They are such beautiful kids. They had come to me for a byte for their school project which I gave happily.
I’m a big fan of Sridevi, Madhuri and Rani. I also met Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra at the Saawariya premiere. By coincidence I was wearing a Manish Malhotra saree.”
Rakhi has one burning ambition to fulfil. “I want to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In his hands even the dirtiest artiste energes as a sparkling diamond. I’ve watched him shoot and I’ve seen how he works on his artistes.
Main bolun ….a hundred films by other directors ek taraf….Sanjay Leela Bhansali ki film ek taraf. I’m willing to do the smallest of parts in his cinema. Saawariya transports me into a different world.”

Sallu is ok with Katrina-Shahid

Reports that Salman insisted on getting Shahid Kapoor out of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s propsed Katrina-Shahid love story had the prolific filmmaker baffled.
“I really don’t know when and where these stories come from. I’ve seen Saawariya and I loved Ranbir’s performance.
Why just Ranbir, I also loved Sonam Kapoor’s performance. I’d certainly like to work with both of them in the future.
But as of now, there’s nothing on the anvil. I’m currently in the pre-production of my Ashoka film with Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu. But the Katrina-Shahid film is not shelved. We’re on the look-out for another script.”
Speaking on Salman Santoshi says fondly, “I’ve been fond of Salman from the time we worked together in Andaz Apna Apna. I’d love to work with him again any time. He’s a very co-operative, kind and generous actor.
He has never interfered in my casting and he never will tell me whom to work with or not work with. Yes, I’m open to suggestions on casting.”

Konkona Sen Sharma enters Cotton World

She is one person with whom sincerity, dedication and originality can be said with one breath. She is far away from being a ‘Page 3’ celeb. She is none other than Konkona Sen Sharma, who has now become an activist for the leading cotton brand Cotton World. She is all set to initiate people to replace plastic bags with cotton ones.
More over the commercials, this lady personally believes and feels strongly for the cause, something very unlikely of many brand ambassadors who are mushrooming from everywhere. Konkona said that she doesn’t like synthetic and is basically a cotton and khadi kind of person in real life. And the reason that she associates with this is also valid as she said that the cause is not just eco-friendly; it is also child friendly since, the contributions will be going directly to CRY.

Ayesha Takia is a Big girl now

“It seems I was the only non-smoker in No Smoking. Everyone else was busy smoking all the time, ” laughs Ayesha Takia. After her glorious performance in Dor, she was seen in Anurag Kashyap’s anti-smoking film.
“Anurag Kashyap has been a good friend for five years. We always wanted to work together. Initially No Smoking didn’t have much for me to do. It was a small role of John’s wife.
But finally Anurag Kashyap gave me two roles in No Smoking, of John’s wife and his secretary. Another actress was to play the secretary. He turned two characters into a double role for me.
Not just that, he added scenes as the film progressed. I guess someone somewhere likes me.”
She laughs pleasurably, obviously enjoying her new status as a serious actress. “I think Anurag is a genius. He has the guts to do something different.”
For someone who’s just 21 Ayesha seems to be playing a lot of wifely roles in films as far-ranging as Shaadi No 1 and Dor.
Ayesha is happy to be building her own niche. “At least Dor has taken me away from this young bubbly image. I hope more people feel that I’m capable of doing something more.
Thank God Nagesh Kukunoor trusted me with Dor….Not that I don’t enjoy running around trees. But what I wouldn’t give to do more like roles like Dor and No Smoking. People do seem to be offering me a variety of roles. “

Now Jaya & Abhishek together

He’s been a son to his illustrious father in more films than one. Now it’s the mom’s turn.
Jaya Bachchan has so far not had an opportunity to play her real-life son Abhishek’s mom in any film barring the Bengali Desh where Abhishek put in a very special appearance as Jaya’s NRI son.
Now the two will be seen as a full-fledged mother-son pair in family-friend Goldie Behl’s Drona.
Goldie isn’t only one of Abhishek’s closest childhood buddies, his father producer-director Ramesh Behl was one of Jaya’s closest friends. She acted in one of his biggest hits including Jawani Diwani and its not so successful follow-up Dil Diwana.
And when in 1982, Ramesh Behl produced Yeh Vada Raha, Jaya dubbed for both its leading ladies Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim (they were supposed to be the same character with different faces after plastic surgery).
Goldie hasn’t made a film since his debut Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai in 2001 with Abhishek Bachchan.
Says Priyanka, “Drona is a big film in terms of canvas and budget. But it has only three main characters played by Jayaji, Abhishek and me.”
Incidentally Jaya and Abhishek were also seen together in Pradeep Sarkar’s film Laga Chunari Mein Daag, though not as mother and son.

I’m very Jealous of Saawariya

The feeling that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya has not been appreciated within the film industry is more than amply dispelled by a host of topnotch filmmakers and actors who have fallen in love with the film.
Rakeysh Mehra can’t stop raving about Saawariya. “We’ve a very special film in Saawariya. Some films have shelf life. Others have boxoffice life. The really lucky ones have both. Saawariya is a film that will be looked back on as a turning point in our cinema.
I was on location in Jaipur during the premiere of Saawariya but I caught it later. It is one of its kind. I was simply blown away by the film. My first reaction was of jealousy. Followed by admiration and respect for its maker.”
He dismisses the critical backlash as predictable. “Saawariya opens up a new genre. For long we’ve made films on suspended reality. Now new genres are opening up.
Saawariya goes with full-on lip-sync songs from characters who look like they’d like to sing to each other. Suddenly we no longer have a cop in uniform bursting into a song to his girlfriend. I think the musical has matured with Saawariya. My Rang De Basanti is again part of the transition.
Like Saawariya it re-defines the musical genre. Some of us who take giant steps ahead in cinema are bound to get hurt, ” he says about the savage criticism of the film.
However having fallen in love with Bhansali’s tapestry of artistry, Mehra thinks the film’s length may perhaps have gone against it.
“I think it’s half an hour too long for the story that it has to tell. I’d consider that a structural flaw. Otherwise I’m completely enamoured of the film.”

I’ll marry Harman? It’s crazy:Priyanka

Apparently Priyanka is being offered two films every day.
“Who told you that?” she squeals delightedly in protest. “It’s true that I’m being very careful post-Krissh and Don. I want to do films that would challenge me as an actress. And I’m taking a long break after that.
I’m not getting the kind of film that grabs my attention immediately. I want to do only caliber roles. I don’t want to rush into anything. It could be anything. “
In the interim Priyanka is plunged into her athletic role in Drona and learning Latin dancing. “Better hone my skills than do bad films,” she asserts confidently.
“Once I finish Harry Baweja’s Love Story 2050 and Drona, I have nothing on the plate. I’d much rather work on myself. I want to do Latin contemporary—salsa, jazz, whatever. That excites me. Any new skill would be an asset for me as an actress.”
After leaning martial arts for Don, Priyanka is also learning a new form of self-defence for Drona. “This is a totally Indian skill for Drona. It’s a very Indian form of fighting. That’s all I can tell you on record. I’ve a professional trainer who has come down from a certain part of the country.”
After Krissh, both Drona and Love Story 2050 is FX-motivated. “I don’t know what it is with my special effects. I guess F-X has become an integral part of cinema. In Hollywood even the sweetest of love stories have them.
That’s happening in our cinema too. Drona is fantasy and will have loads of F-X. In Don there was so much F-X we couldn’t even see it. In Love Story 2060 we’re creating the future.”
Is she thinking of creating the future with her co-star Harman Baweja? “That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard. Harman is a buddy. I came into the picture late. But now it’s my film. I’m fully into it.
In the past there were so many films that I left and were done by other actresses. Likewise this film passed on to me (from Kareena). Now it’s mine.”

John is hoping to do a SRK

John says there are two things in life that he is very confident about.
“One is biking and the other football, or shall we call it soccer, as people love to identify with American football these days. I’ve done my bikers’ movie Dhoom. Enough has been said and seen about my love for bikes.
We now have enough young guys zooming around on bikes. But what about football? I want it to acquire the same popularity and legitimacy as bikes….and cricket.”
John feels the only game in this country that has a life outside the celeb-field is cricket. “Shah Rukh Khan was the best thing to happen to hockey (after Chak De India). Otherwise I feel every game including football needs a star to promote it.
And I’m ready to do everything within my means to make sure the game gets the same fame as cricket. Unfortunately the bureaucracy and the politics of this country is not conducive to a healthy atmosphere for any kind of discussion on the health of the nation.”
John has met the Information & Broadcasting Minister and president of All India Football Federation Priya Das Musnshi several times.
“Yes I’ve met him repeatedly about the future of football and how to push the game. He’s a lovely man and he feels for the game. We’d like to take the game to another level.
Along with the producers of my new football film UTV, we’ve designed a ground-contact programme. I can play the game, I’m not faking it. If I can be convincing in promoting biking why not football?
I want the ball to become an epicenter of glamour. When youngsters see the football in my hand they should think it’s cool.”
John feels cricket is too formidable a competition for football. “But if you want to know, I want to make football instead of cricket the new favourite game of the country.
I had hoped to get every smoker and his wife to watch No Smoking and to convert some into non-smokers. What’s the point of being a celebrity if you can’t influence minds in a positive way?”

Anne Hathaway

Anne Jacqueline Hathaway (born November 12, 1982) is an American actress and singer. Hathaway made her acting debut in the 1999 television series Get Real, but her first prominent role was in Disney's family comedy The Princess Diaries (2001), which established her career. She continued to appear in Disney films in the next three years, and she had the lead roles in Ella Enchanted and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (both 2004). Hathaway took more creative control over her career in 2005 and co-starred in the adult-themed Havoc and Brokeback Mountain, both requiring extensive nude scenes, as well as The Devil Wears Prada (2006), in which she starred opposite Meryl Streep. That film has become the highest-grossing film of her career. Becoming Jane, in which she stars as Jane Austen, was released in 2007.Hathaway's acting style has been compared to that of Judy Garland and Audrey Hepburn and she cites Hepburn as her favorite actress and Streep as her idol.People magazine named her one of 2001's breakthrough stars and in 2006 she was listed as one of the world's 50 Most Beautiful People.
BiographyEarly life & careerHathaway was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Gerald Hathaway, a lawyer, and Kate McCauley, an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps. She was named after the wife of playwright William Shakespeare. She has an older brother, Michael, and a younger brother, Thomas. Hathaway has mainly Irish and French ancestry, with more distant German and Native American roots. She was raised in the Catholic religion with what she considers "really strong values",and wanted to be a nun during her childhood. However, at fifteen, she decided not to become a nun after learning that her brother Michael was gay.Although she was raised as a Catholic, she felt that she could not be part of a religion that disapproved of her brother's sexual orientation.
Hathaway was raised in Millburn, New Jersey and graduated from Millburn High School where she was in many school plays. She spent several semesters studying at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York before transferring to New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She referred to her college enrollment as one of her best decisions because she enjoyed being with others who were trying to successfully "grow up". Hathaway was a member of the Barrow Group Theater Company's acting program and the first teenager admitted.[12] She is a trained stage actress and has stated that she prefers appearing on stage to film roles.Hathaway, a soprano, performed twice in 1998 with the All Eastern U.S. High School Honors Chorus at Carnegie Hall and has performed in plays at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange. Three days after performing at Carnegie Hall, she was cast in the short-lived 1999 television series Get Real.
2001-2004 career developmentHathaway made her film debut in the Garry Marshall-directed The Princess Diaries (2001). It was generally well received by critics.Hathaway starred in Get Real for one season, after which it was cancelled. Her first major film role was in The Other Side of Heaven (2001) opposite Christopher Gorham, but before production began in New Zealand, she auditioned for the lead role of Mia Thermopolis in the Garry Marshall-directed The Princess Diaries (2001). Marshall cast her immediately because she fell off her chair during the audition and his granddaughters thought that she had nice hair. Hathaway enjoyed filming The Princess Diaries and called it "really fun". It was released before Heaven because of its comedic-oriented plot, which critics said was effective because of her casting; a reviewer for BBC wrote that "Hathaway shines in the title role, and generates great chemistry".Across the world, the film was a commercial success[14] and a sequel was planned shortly after. The Other Side of Heaven was received weakly by critics, but it performed well for a Christian-themed film.
Hathaway continued appearing in comedy-oriented films and was known in the media as a children's role model. The following year, she starred in Nicholas Nickleby (2002) opposite Charlie Hunnam and Jamie Bell, which opened to positive reviews; the Northwest Herald referred to it as "an unbelievably fun film" and the Deseret News said that the cast was "Oscar-worthy". Despite critical acclaim, the film never entered wide release and failed at the North American box office (totaling less than US$4 million). Hathaway's next role was in Ella Enchanted (2004), the film adaptation of the award-winning[20] novel. It received indifferent reviews: the Chicago Tribune called it "shiny candy that tastes oddly familiar yet lacks sugary punch", and the New York Times felt that it was "clichéd and forgetful". However, the Dallas Morning News cited Tommy O'Haver's directing-style as "a Flintstones-like humor to the setting by melding modern with medieval culture".
In 2004 Hathaway was to star opposite Gerard Butler in The Phantom of the Opera, but she rejected the role because of her conflicting contract with Disney, which she was unhappy about.Disney began production on The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement in early 2004 and it was initially going to be filmed in Prague, but the location was changed to Los Angeles, where the "kingdom" of Genovia was built. The film opened to negative reviews and peaked higher at the box office than its predecessor, but ended with lower ticket sales.
2005-present career transitionHathaway's career moved in a more non-comedic direction with her role in Brokeback Mountain (2005).Hathaway began appearing in less comedic-oriented films after The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. She said that "anybody who was a role model for children needs a reprieve",[11] although she also noted that "it's lovely to think that my audience is growing up with me", a reference to her previous status as a children's actress.[16] She voiced a version of Little Red Riding Hood in Hoodwinked (2005), which received generally mixed reviews. That same year, Hathaway was cast in the mature-rated Havoc (2005), in which she played a spoiled socialite. In a surprise move, Hathaway was featured in several nude and sexual scenes throughout the film . She also appeared in the drama Brokeback Mountain (2005), opposite Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, appearing nude in the film as well. Havoc was not released in theatres in the United States (but was later released in other countries) because of its weak critical reception,[26] but Brokeback Mountain won rave reviews[27] for its depiction of a homosexual relationship in the 1960s, and received several Academy Award nominations, including "Best Picture".[28] Hathaway asserted that its content was more important than its award count.Promotional poster for the film Becoming Jane (2007).Hathaway's next film was The Devil Wears Prada (2006), in which she starred as an assistant to a powerful fashion magazine editor (Meryl Streep, whom she described as being "just divine").[7] Hathaway said that working on the film earned her respect in the fashion industry, but she claims that her personal style is something she "can't get right" and instead prefers "doing the things she loves".In an interview with Us Weekly, Hathway spoke about her weight loss for the film. “I basically stuck with fruit, vegetables and fish (to slim down for the movie). I wouldn’t recommend that. Emily Blunt and I would clutch at each other and cry because we were so hungry.”
Hathaway was initially cast in the 2007 comedy Knocked Up but dropped out before filming began. Writer/director Judd Apatow stated in a May 2007 issue of The New York Times Magazine that Hathaway dropped out "because she didn't want to allow us to use real footage of a woman giving birth to create the illusion that she is giving birth." Katherine Heigl replaced Hathaway. In an August 2007 interview with Marie Claire magazine, Hathaway commented on an unnamed film "I turned [it] down ... because it was going to show a vagina -- not mine, but somebody else's. And I didn't believe that it was actually necessary to the story."
Hathaway was then seen in Becoming Jane, in which she stars as English writer Jane Austen, released in mid 2007.She will also star as Agent 99[ in the screen adaptation of the TV series Get Smart, which will premiere in 2008.
Personal lifeHathaway enjoys interior design and reading as pastimes, and has stated that she is a non-denominational Christian. She has cited Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead (1943) as her favorite novel. Since 2004, Hathaway has been in a relationship with real estate developer Raffaello Follieri. In regards to personal strife and subsequent media attention, Hathaway's self-subscribed mantra is a quote by Oscar Wilde: "the less said about life's sores the better."

Bruce Willis

Walter Bruce Willis (born March 19, 1955 in Idar-Oberstein, Germany) is an American actor and singer. He came to fame in the late 1980s and has since retained a career as both a Hollywood leading man and a supporting actor, in particular for his role as John McClane in the Die Hard series. Willis was married to actress Demi Moore and they had three daughters before their divorce in 2000 after thirteen years of marriage. He has received multiple awards and honors throughout his career and has publicly shown his support for the United States armed forces. In various interviews, Willis has revealed his political opinions and interest in several conspiracy theories.Motion pictures that feature him as a leading actor or supporting co-star, have grossed a total of $2.55 to $3.04 billion at the North American box office, placing him as the sixth (as strictly lead) or the eighth highest-grossing movie star (counting supporting roles) of all time.
Early lifeWillis was born in Idar-Oberstein, Germany to David Willis, an American soldier, and a Kassel-born German mother, Marlene, who worked in a bank. Willis was the oldest of four children (his siblings are Florence, David, and Robert). After being discharged from the military in 1957, Willis's father took his family back to Penns Grove, New Jersey, where he worked as a welder and factory worker. His parents separated in 1971 while Willis was in his early teens. He was always an outgoing youngster, although he grew up with a stutter. Finding it easy to express himself on stage and losing his stutter in the process, Willis began performing on stage and his high school activities were marked by such things as the drama club and school council president.
Rather than go to college after graduation, Willis became a blue-collar worker, transporting work crews at the DuPont Chambers Works factory in Deepwater, New Jersey. He decided to quit after a colleague was killed on the job, and thereafter became a regular at several bars. Willis also discovered an innate knack for playing harmonica and joined an R&B band called Loose Goose.[6] After a stint as a private investigator (a role he plays in his 1991 film, The Last Boy Scout), Willis returned to his original passion of acting. He enrolled in the drama program at Montclair State University, where he was cast in the class production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Jack Prince as Big Daddy, William Applegate as the doctor, and Kevin J. Lynch as the Rev. Tooker. Willis left school during his junior year and moved to New York City.Willis returned to the bar scene, only this time for a part-time job and as a way to meet New York celebrities. He is rumored to have been 'discovered' while working at the Museum Cafe on New York's Upper West Side. After countless auditions, Willis made his theater debut in the off-Broadway production of Heaven and Earth. He gained more experience and exposure in Fool for Love, a stint on television's Miami Vice, and in a Levi's commercial.
CareerWillis left New York City and headed to California to audition for several television shows. He auditioned for the TV series Moonlighting (1985–89), while competing against 3,000 other actors for the position and was selected to play David Addison Jr. The starring role helped to establish him as a comedic actor, with the show lasting five seasons. During the height of the show's success, beverage maker Seagram hired Willis as the pitchman for their Golden Wine Cooler products. The memorable ad campaign paid the rising star between five and seven million dollars over two years. In spite of that, Willis decided not renew his contract with the company when he decided to stop drinking in 1988. One of his first major film roles was in the 1987 Blake Edwards film "Blind Date" alongside Kim Basinger and John Laroquette. However, it was his then-unexpected turn in the film Die Hard that catapulted him to fame. He performed most of his own stunts in the film,[9] and the film grossed $138,708,852 worldwide. Due to its box office success, the film would eventually tender three sequels, with the most recent entry, Live Free or Die Hard, released in June 2007. He also provided his voice for a talking baby in Look Who's Talking and its sequel.
In the late-1980s, Willis enjoyed moderate success as a recording artist, recording an album of pop-blues entitled The Return of Bruno, which included the hit single "Respect Yourself",[11] promoted by a Spinal Tap-like rockumentary parody featuring scenes of him performing at famous events including Woodstock. Follow-up recordings were not as successful, though Willis has returned to the recording studio several times. In the early 1990s, Willis' career suffered a moderate slump starring in flops such as The Bonfire of the Vanities, Striking Distance and a film he co-wrote entitled Hudson Hawk, among others. However, in 1994 he had a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino's acclaimed Pulp Fiction, which gave a new boost to his career. In 1996, he was the executive producer of the cartoon Bruno the Kid which featured a CGI representation of himself.[12] He went on to play the lead roles in Twelve Monkeys and The Fifth Element. However, by the end of the 1990s, his career had fallen into another slump with critically panned films like The Jackal, Mercury Rising, and Breakfast of Champions, saved only by the success of the Michael Bay-directed Armageddon which was the highest grossing film of 1998 worldwide.[13] The same year his voice and likeness were featured in the PlayStation video game Apocalypse. In 1999, Willis then went on to the starring role in M. Night Shyamalan's film, The Sixth Sense. The film was both a commercial and critical success and helped to increase interest in his acting career. He once had to appear in the hit sitcom Friends without pay, because he lost a bet to Matthew Perry, his co-star in The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel The Whole Ten Yards. He won a 2000 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on Friends (in which he played the father of Ross Geller's much-younger girlfriend). He was also nominated for a 2001 American Comedy Award (in the Funniest Male Guest Appearance in a TV Series category) for his work on Friends. Willis was originally cast as Terry Benedict in Ocean's Eleven (2001) but dropped out to work on recording an album. In Ocean's Twelve (2003), he makes a cameo appearance as himself. He recently appeared in the Planet Terror half of the double feature Grindhouse as the villain, a mutant soldier. This marks Willis' second collaboration with director Robert Rodriguez, following Sin City.
Willis has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman several times throughout his career. He filled in for an ill David Letterman on his show February 26, 2003, when he was supposed to be a guest.[15] He interviewed Dan Rather in what he would later call "the most serious conversation of my entire life". On many of his appearances on the show, Willis stages elaborate jokes, such as wearing a day-glo orange suit in honor of the Central Park gates, having one side of his face made up with simulated buckshot wounds after the Harry Whittington shooting, or trying to break a record (parody of David Blaine) of staying underwater for only 20 seconds. On April 12, 2007, he appeared again, this time wearing a Sanjaya Malakar wig.[16] His most recent appearance was on June 25, 2007 when he appeared wearing a mini-turbine strapped to his head to accompany a joke about his own fictional documentary entitled An Unappealing Hunch (a wordplay of An Inconvenient Truth).Willis also appeared on Japanese Subaru Legacy television commercials,[18] optimizing the car for sale, with the backing music of Jade from Sweetbox, "Addicted" and "Hate Without Frontiers". Tying in with this, Subaru did a limited run of Legacys, badged "Subaru Legacy Touring Bruce", in honor of Willis.Willis has appeared in four movies with Samuel L. Jackson (National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard with a Vengeance, and Unbreakable) and both actors were slated to work together in Black Water Transit before dropping out. Willis also worked alongside his eldest daughter, Rumer, in the 2005 film Hostage. In 2007, he recently finished the thriller Perfect Stranger, opposite Halle Berry, and marked his return to the role of John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard.
Upcoming filmsWith the third sequel to Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard having been released in June 2007, Willis' future projects will include three other films that will debut between 2007 and 2010. The Last Full Measure is a drama film based on a true story about a Vietnam War veteran, and 2008's The Sophomore is a comedy where he will be a Catholic school principal and his real-life eldest daughter, Rumer, will star as a student investigating missing SAT scores.[19] The 2009 film will be the drama Morgan's Summit, where he will depict a late night radio host who promotes kindness, but changes his demeanor after a brutal crime causes him to seek revenge.Willis was slated to play U.S. Army general William R. Peers in director Oliver Stone's Pinkville, a drama about the investigation of the 1968 My Lai massacre.[20] However, due to the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike, the film was cancelled and Willis instead joined the film, The Surrogates, which is based on the comic books of the same name.[21]
Personal lifeAt the premiere for the film Stakeout, Willis met actress Demi Moore who was dating actor Emilio Estevez at the time. Willis married Moore on November 21, 1987 and had three daughters (Rumer Glenn Willis (born 1988), Scout LaRue Willis (1991) and Tallulah Belle Willis (1994)) before the couple divorced on October 18, 2000. The couple gave no public reason for their breakup. Willis reacting on his divorce stated "I felt I had failed as a father and a husband by not being able to make it work" and credited actor Will Smith for helping him get through the divorce. Willis and Moore currently share custody of the three daughters they had during their thirteen-year union. Since their breakup, rumors persisted that the couple planned to re-marry, but Moore has since married the younger actor Ashton Kutcher. Willis has maintained a close relationship with both Moore and Kutcher. Since his divorce he has dated models Maria Bravo Rosado and Emily Sandberg and also was engaged to Brooke Burns, until they broke up in 2004 after dating for ten months.Recently, he has been spotted dating Playboy Playmates Tamara Witmer and Karen McDougal on different occasions. Willis has expressed interest in getting married again and having more children.
Bruce Willis was, at one point, Lutheran (specifically Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod); but no longer practices, based on a statement he made in the July 1998 issue of George magazine:
“ Organized religions in general, in my opinion, are dying forms", he says. "They were all very important when we didn't know why the sun moved, why weather changed, why hurricanes occurred, or volcanoes happened", he continues. "Modern religion is the end trail of modern mythology. But there are people who interpret the Bible literally. Literally!" he says incredulously. "I choose not to believe that's the way. And that's what makes America cool, you know?[23] ”
In early 2006, Willis, who usually lives in Los Angeles, moved into an apartment located in the Trump Tower in New York City.[24] Willis also has a home in Malibu, California, a ranch in Montana, a beach home on Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos, and multiple properties in Sun Valley, Idaho.Willis owns his own motion picture production company called Cheyenne Enterprises which he started with his business parter Arnold Rifkin in 2000.[26] He also owns several small businesses in Hailey, Idaho including The Mint Bar and The Liberty Theater and is a co-founder of Planet Hollywood along with actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.
Willis, an avid New Jersey Nets fan, made controversial comments on April 29, 2007 during a live broadcast of a Nets home playoff game vs. the Toronto Raptors on TSN by saying a catch phrase from his Die Hard films, "Yipee-ki-yay motherfucker", at the end of the interview. Reacting to the backlash, he later blamed his actions on jet lag, stating: "Sometimes I overestimate my ability to function under duress with less than enough sleep".On May 5, 2007, someone using the screen name "Walter_B" started posting detailed responses onto Ain't it Cool News, where people were discussing the fact that Live Free or Die Hard received a PG-13 rating, instead of an R rating like the earlier three Die hard films.[31] The responses included detailed information on Live Free or Die Hard, which was yet to be released; the theme of the Die Hard film series, direct criticisms of other movie crews and casts, and many movie trivia answers. "Walter_B" was Bruce Willis himself, directly posting his opinions. Many people were skeptical that "Walter_B" was indeed Willis, but on May 9, Willis revealed his identity by using video chat via iChat on Apple Mac OS X.[32]
Political viewsWillis was one of few Hollywood celebrities to publicly support the Iraq War in 2003, but in 2007 declared that he was more supportive of the troops instead of the war itself.[33] He has endorsed every Republican presidential candidate except Bob Dole in 1996, because Dole had criticized Demi Moore for her role in the movie Striptease.[34] Willis was an invited speaker at the 2000 Republican National Convention.[35] Willis has attempted to play down his status as one of Hollywood's most outspoken Republicans, although he continues to vocally support gun ownership and other conservative policies. Generally he considers himself to be moderate (For example he has criticized the religious right and its influence on the Republican party.) In February 2006, Willis appeared in Manhattan to talk about his new movie 16 Blocks with reporters. One reporter attempted to ask Willis about his opinion on current events but was interrupted by Willis in mid-sentence:
“ I'm sick of answering this fucking question. I'm a Republican only as far as I want a smaller government, I want less government intrusion. I want them to stop shitting on my money and your money and tax dollars that we give 50 percent of... every year. I want them to be fiscally responsible and I want these goddamn lobbyists out of Washington. Do that and I'll say I'm a Republican... I hate the government, OK? I'm apolitical. Write that down. I'm not a Republican. ” In several June 2007 interviews, he declared that he still maintains some Republican ideologies but is currently an independent. In 2006, he proposed that the United States should invade Colombia in order to end the drug trafficking.[ In several interviews with USA Weekend magazine, Willis has revealed that he supports large salaries for teachers, and reveals that he is disappointed in the United States' foster care and treatment of Native Americans.Willis also stated that he is a big supporter of gun rights:"Everyone has a right to bear arms. If you take guns away from legal gun owners, then the only people who have guns are the bad guys." Even a pacifist, he insists, would get violent if someone were trying to kill him. "You would fight for your life."
Military interestsWillis meeting members of the U.S. Navy on July 25, 2002Throughout his film career, Willis has depicted several military characters in films such as The Siege, Hart's War, Tears of the Sun, and Grindhouse. Growing up in a military family, Willis has been publicly supportive of troops of the United States armed forces. In 2002, Willis's youngest daughter, Tallulah, suggested that Willis purchase Girl Scout cookies to send to troops. Willis purchased 12,000 boxes of cookies, and they were distributed to sailors aboard USS John F. Kennedy and other troops stationed throughout the Middle East at the time.[40] In 2003, Willis visited Iraq as part of the USO tour, singing to the troops with his band, The Accelerators.[41] Some reports from military officials suggest that Willis tried to enlist in the military to help fight the second Iraq war, but he was turned away because of his age.[42][43] It was believed he offered $1 million to any civilian who turns in terrorist leaders Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, or (now the late) Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, however, in the June 2007 issue of Vanity Fair, he clarified that the statement was made hypothetically and not meant to be taken literally. Willis has also bashed the media for its coverage of the war, complaining that the press were more likely to focus on the negative aspects of the war:
“ I went to Iraq because what I saw when I was over there was soldiers — young kids for the most part — helping people in Iraq; helping getting the power turned back on, helping get hospitals open, helping get the water turned back on and you don't hear any of that on the news. You hear, 'X number of people were killed today,' which I think does a huge disservice. It's like spitting on these young men and women who are over there fighting to help this country.” Willis has said that he wants to "make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy." The film will follow members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, who spent considerable time in Mosul and were decorated heavily for it. The film is to be based on the writings of blogger Michael Yon, a former United States Army Special Forces Green Beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and sent regular dispatches about their heroics. Willis described the plot of the film as "these guys who do what they are asked for very little money to defend and fight for what they consider to be freedom."[46]
Conspiracy theoriesIn an interview for the June 2007 issue of Vanity Fair, Bruce Willis reveals his skepticism that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the assassination of JFK, and suggests that some of the same criminals who killed Kennedy are still in power today.
Cultural referencesIn 1996, Roger Director, a writer and producer from Moonlighting wrote a roman à clef on Bruce Willis titled A Place to Fall.[48] Cybill Shepherd wrote in her 2000 autobiography, Cybill Disobedience that Willis expressed his anger toward Roger Director, because the character was written as a "neurotic, petulant actor."
