Preity Zinta born 31st January 1974 in Shimla, native of Rohru, Himachal Pradesh is an Indian actress who is a most popular herione in Bollywood. She is one of the most successful actress in the Industry. She is from Hindu Rajput family of Rohru and did her schooling "Convent of Jesus and Mary School", Shimla. She completed degree "criminal psychology" at the St. Bedes College. She began her Career as as a model, television anchor, and commercial (ad films) actress (she was seen in Lyril (soap) ad film) before breaking into cinema in 1998 with her role in Dil Se, for which she won the Filmfare Sensational Debut Award. Preity Zinta's father Durganand Zinta was an officer in the Indian Army, mother Nilprabha Zinta both are involved in a car accident when Preity was thirteen. Unfortunately, her died on the spot and her mother broke many bones, including her sine. Zinta has two brothers, Deepankar Zinta and Manish Zinta, a year older and a year younger. Deepankar is a commissioned officer in the Indian Army. She is currently dating with Ness Wadia, the heir to the Bombay Dyeing company. Preity Zinta recently moved into to her own house in Mumbai. Preity Zinta's trademark is her dimple. She has done her best performance in Kya Kehna. She has acted four times with Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. Zinta's good friends are Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Zinta had bad days in the year 2004, she nearly escaped death twice in Colombo and later in the Indian Ocean Tsunami.

Later Abbas-Mustan's Soldier that too was a hit at the box-office confirmed she was here to stay. Though 'Kya Kehna' was her first film, but it released in 2000 and was the surprise hit of 2000. Her role in 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Dil Hai Tumhara' was appreciated and liked by all and that has made her an actress to reckon with in Bollywood.
