Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra recently declined to do Ashok Amritraj's international cross-cultural love story.Though Priyanka declines to comment on the issue, a source close to her said: "It was basically a budget issue. Though it was an American production, the budget of Amritraj's film was half of what we spend for a fairly lavish Bollywood film like Krrish or Drona ."Priyanka just didn't see the point in stretching herself to do this film just because it was an international project."More and more denizens of the Indian entertainment industry are getting to know the true value of their homeland. Amitabh Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan have said no to a number of Hollywood assignments where they've felt they aren't likely to fit in properly.Meanwhile, the District Court in Indore Friday stayed an arrest warrant issued last month by a lower court against Priyanka's father Ashok Chopra.Judicial Magistrate V S Mubel issued the warrant while acting on a complaint by Priyanka's former private secretary Prakash Jaju. The warrant was stayed by Special Judge M M Mamtani. The case would be argued on September 24.Jaju alleged that Ashok issued a threat via underworld don Chhota Shakeel. Priyanka was earlier exonerated by the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench.Ashok's Counsel Chandrashekhar Raikwar argued that his client was undergoing cancer treatment in America and therefore the case should be dismissed on humanitarian grounds.Priyanka and Jaju are having a monetary dispute. Priyanka recently submitted a caveat plea in the Supreme Court.
